The Big Bang Story:
Big Bang Marketing Group is a consortium of companies, each of which specializes in a unique area of marketing and business management expertise. The "group" was formed to help companies in the cleaning industry develop systems for achieving their goals. Our philosophy is simple: By helping our customers grow their businesses, they in-turn help us to grow ours.
BBMG founder, Randy Rovang, is a 21 year veteran of the carpet and upholstery cleaning industry. Positive business relationships developed between Randy and vendors over the years, led to many of those companies products and services inclusion in BBMG's offerings.
Randy started his business part-time, working
with portable equipment out of the back of a Datsun pickup, while he worked a
full-time job in management with Safeway Stores and also attended college
classes, majoring in marketing.
In 1987, Randy sold his old portable equipment and bought his first franchise from a well-known international carpet cleaning company, plunging head first into full-time self-employment. The cold realities of that first long winter in business when the phone refused to ring, left a lasting impression on Randy. He vowed to set up marketing systems for his business that kept a steady flow of business throughout the entire year.
In 1989 and 1991, Randy purchased additional franchises and was on his way to building one of the largest carpet and upholstery cleaning and water damage restoration companies in the Pacific Northwest.
In 1995, Randy began publishing his own customer newsletter, Spots Illustrated. The newsletter quickly proved to be a very successful and cost-effective way to keep the company name in front of customers, which led to larger and more frequent sales. Customers often called just to say how much they enjoyed the newsletter.
In 1998, Randy sold two of his franchises and started Crabman Marketing Company, producing Spots Illustrated for other carpet cleaning companies.
At the franchisers national convention in 1999, Randy received a "Best of the Best" marketing award for his Spots Illustrated customer newsletter.
In January, 2001, Randy sold his last remaining carpet cleaning franchise. Crabman Marketing Company was "morphed" into Big Bang Marketing Group L.L.C.
Randy and Mary Rovang have been married for 27 years and have two sons, Ryan and Nick. They make their home on beautiful Whidbey Island, a large island located in Puget Sound approximately 25 miles north of Seattle in Washington state.
